Joint-stock commercial Senegat Bank was one of the first commercial banks in Turkmenistan. In was incorporated by 22 founding shareholders on October 18, 1989, as Turkmen Commercial Bank. The main purpose of establishing the Bank was to provide support to private entrepreneurs and to enterprises involved and trading and in production activities. At this point in time Senegat is an open joint-stock company operating in accordance with Turkmenistam legislation. The bamk has branches in all provincial centers, in the capital of Turkmenistan, and in Turkmenbashi and Serdar cities of Balkan province. There is also one agency in Gubadag city of Dashoguz province.
