The mission of Eurasian Development Bank is to promote economic growth in the member countries, expansion of trade and economic links among them, and development of integration processes within the Eurasian space through investment activities.
The Bank was established on the basis of an inter-state agreement signed on January 12, 2006, by authorized representatives of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan. The initiative to establish the Bank was introduced by the presidents of Russia nad Kazakhstan . The Republic of Armenia and Republic of Tajikistan became full-fledged participants in 2009, year 2010 saw the same done by Republic of Belarus , and in 2011 Kyrgyz Republic followed suite. In year 2007 the Bank was granted an observer status with the UN General Assembly and with the UNCTAD Trade and Development Council, as well as with the Eurasian Financial Action Task Force. The Bank is headquartered in Almaty, it also has a branch office in St.Petersburg and representative offices in Nur-Sultan, Bishkek, Dushanbe, Yerevan, Minsk and Moscow.
